Maggie Lang, Certified Massage Therapist and Pilates Instructor, has been a Mind-Body Practitioner for over 14 years.
Originally trained in massage at Santa Barbara Bodyworks, Maggie's education also includes many hours at The Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute, San Francisco School of Massage and Ojai School of Massage. Her method focuses on relaxation, mind-body integration, increased range of motion and self-awareness. With an emphasis on proper breathing, skeletal alignment and supporting the ease of movement between the layers of tissue in the body, Maggie hopes to increase the quality of life of anyone who lands on her table or in the Pilates studio.
She trained at YogaWorks in Los Angeles, The White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara and The Chicago Yoga Center to instruct Therapeutic and Yin Yoga and Pilates through Pilates Sports Center. Maggie takes long walks daily and has been practicing Pilates regularly since 2013.
Human beings live every moment of life through the body and that experience takes place primarily via the central nervous system. Thoughts, words, actions and interpersonal relationships affect the entire body, so mindful awareness and empathic connection is an integral part of Maggie's approach to bodywork, movement therapy and life in general. She is highly influenced and informed by the written work of Kelly McGonigal Ph.D., Kristin Neff, Dr. Rick Hanson, Tara Brach, Dan Siegel, M.D., Jill Miller, Katy Bowman and many others who share their knowledge and perspective on ways to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
